December 21, 2012...
well, I'll probably be sitting in front of a computer somewhere in front of a message board, trying to get the energy up to go christmas shopping... though I know I won't until 3 days later...

I was saying that the way we know its 2012 is because of the count on the number of winter solstice cycles. Shoes, we're going to be running long and far... gotta impress as many ladies as possible before the end of the world ![]() |

woah! damage control damage control!
lol. ok.... first up, i've only been following this 2012 thing since about 2004. but if you know me, you know i look into things alot. also, i've known of alot of other things that intersect with this topic many years before that, specifically mayan time keepers etc. "2012" as it's popularly referred to given our calendrics... is not just the solstice, but alos comes prrrrrretty close to a galactic alignment. someone correct me if i miss a few details, but, its when the equator, or orbit of earh (both?_) align with the milkyways. quite spectacular eh? ever considered the nature of time and matter/space and how they are intertwined? also, to go into the mayan stuff (we've covered this here before i'm sure), so often we hear scare mongers talk about how it's the end of time and so on. well, maybe so. maybe it coincides when humankind developes the machine elves that allow timetravel in the most densly novel sence. and i do not use the word "novel" lightly. see Terrence McKenna and Timewave Zero, just keep your head on, it's gonna be lovely. Terrence McKenna, a very accademically inteligent and free spirited chap, studied the i-ching among other things, and found the count down, and drew some very interesting graphs and suggested some interesting hypothesis on their meanings. this scared some people in a "a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing" way. so since you're here, reading about this, surpass "a little bit of knowledge" to alot of knowledge. please! because it's all the ignorant eedjits who have jumped to conclusions spreading fear and doubt about, without allowing themselves to keep learning. It is not an end of time as in, all time will cease to exist and thus so will we, (maybe, i speculate), as it appears to me that this conclusion was based on the mayan clendric systems... and they were not the original, they were western interpretations of this most accurate time keeping system. although culturally we canlook at it and proclaim flaws in their philosophy, they at least predicted their downfall (invasion by spaniards). here's the important bit you gotta get into your heads.... It is not the end of their calendar. ok? its the end of a large cycle. it's just the same as us all getting all scaredy scaredy over the year 2000. it's rediculous. we've drawn these lines in time and when they come some of us get scared!? oh well. we are creators of our own paths, and if you run around like a headless chicken, then that's what you'll be, a headless chicken. keep your head. embed yourself in love & compassion, feel the world around you, for you are part of it, it is not something seperate from you, you are part of the all. right, i'll be back later with some figures and stuff and to check to see how many more people are running riot with the pop culture jibberish that surrounds the topic. relax peeps. your thougths create the universe, so create your thoughts very well. ![]() |

I've already hearded about it, but i don't believe this shit. I'm sure nothing is gonna happen in 2012. I say it 'cause, if you pay a little more attention, from time to time we have a rumour like this circulating.
I'm hearing about the end of the world since I was 10. They are always saying things like "Hey, the eearth will be hitten by an asteroid next month" and stuff. And... well... nothing ever happened. ![]() |
