Hello everyone, I have a 26' widescreen "Soyo" ..unfortunately for me soyo doesn't exist anymore .. i purchased this monitor years ago

Soyo Computer DYLM26E6 Black 26" Widescreen LCD Monitor (26", 1920x1200, 2ms) Monitor User Reviews | PCWorld

I've had this issue now ever since I received my new computer a few months ago, I have these obnoxious lines coming down my screen ..they are all an inch point 2 apart and are pretty noticeable in game.... and at times when moving my screen around in game, it has this line that comes out of no where and kind of does this "blip" thing and it folds up distorting color ..its very slight but once staring at the screen for a while you can definitely notice it ..ive looked everywhere for an answer and I cannot find one, nor can I find anyone online telling me how to calibrate it .......

for whatever reason i cannot fix this huge chunky monitor i wish to purchase a new one, probably from the store ... if i sell this one I'll probably just go to best buy and pick up one... anyone here know if these are good quality? Just a few I selected myself.. i will try and take a photo for an example

If it helps to know, there are two ports on the back of my tower white and blue for monitors, when i plug both my cables into those ports, nothing happens, i have to plug my white monitor cable into the back of my card instead to get picture

Tried using some other source for input into your monitor? With such an error it is one of three things, either some snafu with how your monitor interprets the signal it receives, power given to rows of LCD adress areas, or some error in whatever sends the signal.

Seeing as it is vertical lines rather than horizontal, I suspect it is some power issue in the monitor. But it may just be the input that is fried. Have you tried changing input. Like if you now use DVI, have you tried changing it over to VGA?

And just to be absolutely certain where the fault is, have you tried hooking your PC up to any other display?

All part of problem solving 101. Isolate the problem :)

I tried isolating the blue cable from white, the lines still exist, vise versa with the white cable by itself as well......

I tried using an old monitor, the lines are gone on this one...........so it's the monitor, not my gpu.. good to know........now to sell this hunk of crap...

Still, you say this started with your new computer? Can you give us some specs there? I know you've been asked this already, but have you tried hooking another computer up? Or if you have HDMI maybe a device that outputs through that?

Sorry, I don't mean to hassle you about this, but typically when things like this happen right after a change like that, it's the new hardware's fault. Have you maybe tried updating your gpu drivers or display drivers?

Once again, sorry to hassle you, I'd just hate for you to spend so much money only to realize that it hasn't fixed anything...

I had something similar happen a few years ago, for me it was a failing graphics card and the problem became progressively worse until I had bits of color everywhere and strange floating geometry in even the most simple games.

Yeah i put in my other computers monitor and the problems are gone, i hooked up the monitor I was using (Seen in picture) and it has the same issues, on a different pc. So its the monitor, not the hardware (thankfully)
