My buddy accidentally engaged the security lock on his phone, and he can't remember his Gmail password to unlock it. He doesn't have a recovery email address. What can we do to unlock it? He can't remember the security questions he picked, either. Will he have to take his phone in to his service provider for an unlock?
I believe you will have to perform a factory reset. This will reset all the data, but you can resync your apps and contacts from Google's servers. The process for the factory reset will vary from phone-to-phone, just Google search "factory reset [device name]" or "hard reset [device name]".
