Orange/Brown Spots! Please Help! w/ pics

Not a total newb, but only 1 1/2 grows under my belt. 3 week old Euforias (Dutch Passion) in 6" pots. 50%pro mix/23%vermiculite/23%perlite/4%earthworm castings. Temps 70-77, hum 50-65%. 250w mh, 20/4.

They've been doing great, it was finally time for their first feeding and their first experince with tap water. I used 30% distilled/70% tap, left out for over 24 hrs. 25% strength formulex - 25% strength liquid karma (humic acid and some other stuff) - a few drops of super thrive. They gre vigourously the next few days, they loved it. A couple of little orange spots on the big fan leaves aroun the middle of the leaves but I didn't think it was a big deal. So since they loved the food, I figured I'd feed them again on the next one instead of giving them a break with plain water.

The next day, they're all droopy. The orange spots are turning brown, some of the leaves are drying up and snapping off starting from the tips and going towards the stem. More orange spots and some taco effect. It's horrible. Now I gave them plain water and the effect might have slowed down a little but I'm even sure about that. They're not doing good.

Is this chemical, or is it possible that they grew so much that they're becoming root bound now? The ph in the soil and the water was right on so I dont think thats it....

Please help!

I'm by no means the formost expert on sick plants, but it looks to me that your burning the plants with the nutes rather then a root rot problem. Try not feeding it so much and space out the feedings. I couldn't tell you what type of nute burn. Sorry I couldn't give you more help.

Nor am I but, I agree with the Doggy. Root problems usually take some time to develop and over-fert is very quick. The timing here leads me to believe it is over-fert. Flush out the system and you should be cool.

Sorry. Soil, flush the soil not the system. And consider transplanting into a larger pot as well.

The only way we will know for sure if its nutes is you stop feeding it for a week or two. Keep a close eye on the damaged leaves. They should not get any worse. If you stop for a bit and they get worse it is not the nutes.

Sorry I can't tell you what nute it is, I've been luck so far and not had any nute problems aside from a nitro one. Which I can say you don't have a nitro problem.

And as far as how sure I am about it, if I had that plant I would be flushing the system with ph adjusted water for a few days then taking it easy on the nutes.

If you can id the nute causing the problem and address it there is no reason it won't recover. Don't be dsicouraged when the brown spots go away. Once a leaf gets burned its burned its not going to turn back to all green again. So don't worry about it. The important thing is that new growth looks healthy.
