yellowing fan leaf tips

HELLO ALL! My plant is 2 weeks old and the biggist "true" leaves on the plant seem to be losing their green, starting at the tips. It doesn't seem like its going up the leaves(2) but I am concerned. I just transplanted into a bigger pot with better drainage. Before I transplanted the growing slowed down and thats when it started losing it's color. Not quite yellow, but not the green it was before...HELP PLEASE

get a pic up, maybe change now that it's in a bigger pot........if it continues, then you'll need to add some nitrogen, probably just add a normal fert, if it hasn't had any........but wait a week to see how it goes, as your new soil will have natural ferts in it..........Peace out............Sid

I aint an expert but it kind of looks like maybe too much wattering??

yeah...and the soil does look a little to wet...I'll be cool off the watering for a bit.

I agree with everybody else, looks like too much water in there. You are safe to water then let the plant completely dry up. This is the easiest way to avoid overwatering. Once all the water in the soil is absorbed by the plant it will start drooping. You will be able to tell that the plant looks "thirsty", once you water after seeing this, give the plant about 15 minutes and you will notice it perk back up nicely. I overwatered my plants to start with too, switched to this method after I read about it and haven't had any problems since.

hmm, this was happening to me aswell, then i thought i might have been overwatering, so i cut back to the same plan that The Pink Taco mentioned above me. It has worked well for me.

ease back on ther water, and 1/2 and 1/2 the amount it gets by foliar feeding with a very diluted fert, that's if you haven't added any fert to the soil allready...........that's just incase the underdeveloped root system (due to the overwatering) doesn't need to try to feed the plant,and gives the roots time to recover..... otherwise the plant will start to eat itself, starting most probably with a N defficency, going yellow........Peace out...........Sid

Join Date: Sep 2004 Posts: 54	hmm, this was happening to me aswell, then i thought i might have been overwatering, so i cut back to the same plan that The Pink Taco mentioned above me. It has worked well for me. __________________ Its wings were only designed to be ornamental, but it learned to use them on its own.
