Sick lil seedling :(

This is a autoflowering white dwarf seedling, it doesnt look good at all. I have no clue whats wrong with it cause its so small it looks like it could be anything






Just please tell me what to do!

its about 10 days old. started in a grodan cube, burried in clay pebbles. ive been giving them nutes at 1/4 strength.

under a 400watt mh, 2 feet above.

its being watered every 4 minutes for 1 minute.

it hasnt dropped down much for roots :-\

So i talked to my friend and decided to take his advise. I took the netpot out, and put it in a tuperware container with some pure water. I moved it into the cupboard with the 4 23w cfl's. He said it was the roots and the nutes, and that this would help.

Looks like a little bit of nute burn and some ph spotting. How are you growing it? Some kind of ebb and flow or sowething?

Hi there...your little one has nute burn. At less then 2 weeks old, they cannot handle nutes. I'd back off the nutes for a week or so, giving it ph balanced water only.

IMO...giving it water every 4 minutes gives the plant no reason to send its roots out looking for water, thus no root growth to speak of You want the cube to stay moist, but don't want it too wet, or too dry.

What's the ph of the water???

The ph is currently 6.0, I have Ph down but it seems within the range.

As for my watering schedule and root growth heres a pic of my other seedling started at the same time.






Ive only been growing for about 2 month's total experience, do they look ok for a less then 2 week old plant?

I dunno if your familiar with the aerospring at all but i basicly ripped there idea cept on a larger scale and with different sprinklers that wont clog up.

I am! I have the sick one in pure water right now.

Im sticking with my watering timer tho. The other plant isnt objecting and seems healthy to me.

If you think im a complete moron and the NFT-1 is the wrong timer for an aeroponic grow, PLEASE tell me so, and give me a suggestion for what i should be using.

(ALSO! I know my system isnt a true aeroponic, but the roots to have 15 inches of air to grow thru before they reach the water at the bottom.)

Yeah I'm familiar with it I just couldn't tell from the pic. Keep it in pure ph adjusted water and start adding back nutes slowly in a week or two keeping a eye out for any stress or indications of new nute burn and watch the ppms closely.

As far as the intervals go 15/15 on/off or maybe even less frequently would be better. Once those roots reach the water your gonna have DWC anyway so you better make sure that the solution is highly oxygenated with some airstones. For something like this you should consider a recirculating type setup with a external reivoir and a drain pipe connecting the two together. Just my .02 good luck bro

If your watering schedule has been working for your other plants, I'd just baby the one it's not working for. could just be the weaker plant of the bunch.

Not sure about aero / the pump your using - you may want to check out Unclenugs' thread he's running an aero system.

Is that aluminum foil I see??? You may NOT want to use that, as it holds heat and can cause issues. Mylar doesn't hold heat and is more reflective then foil, and there's also reflective tape that works great. Just thought I'd mention it

Yea it worked great for the last batch until the crappy micro sprinklers clogged up. But these ones dont clog As for the tin foil, i plan on replacing that tommroow when i get paid . I sadly cant find anywhere that lets you cut your own length of mylar, and so am going to have to buy a whole roll from the local hydro for 70$

She is indeed recovering

She's been in pure water with an airstone for a few days now.

New leaf-set looks healthy, and she dropped a gang of roots down into the water!
