growing to fast?

ok my pplant is shooting up like a rocket and i think it is outgrowing itself it has 4 leaves total but is 6 1/2 '' tall im afraid its going to collaps on itself because the stem is still really flexible... is this normal or do i have a problem?

the light may be to far away. also if it starts to bend over support it with a stick or something.

Sounds like she is streching towards the light. Try bring the light closer or a brighter lamp. You'll want a 5500k or 6500k spectrum light for veg. To get the stems to toughen up you can put a small fan close to them, not to much wind, just a little will do.

I have actually heard of this term reffered to as bolt, or bolting, sometimes linked with root-bound plants as well, like you said they will "bolt" up. I wish I was at home with the book to post the exact definition but yes, bolting

--- Well not home to read my book yet, but when I do a little googling many places refer to bolting more with temp. more than other things, meaning, given higher or lower temps. could also effect it. but when I get home I will get you the book def. I have.

Taken from "Indoor Marijuana Horticulture" by Jorge Cervantes

Bolt/Bolting - Term used to describe a plant that is severely root-bound and starved for light. The plant will grow straight up or - bolt.

"...a female maturing in a 4" pot could reach to be 4' tall and only get 6" across, and would take for ever to resume normal growth."
