Sick Leaves spreading upwards!

Hey all, she started flower oct 10. the second pic is from monday and you can see the bottom leaf is yellow. since then the leaves have wilted and have been picked off. now the next leaf set is looking like it (first pic) what could be wrong exactly?

my ph strip indicated the ph was between 5 and 6 and i know that is low but it seems like that wouldnt effect it as much as it has. how do i raise ph? would it be ok to get a cheap soil ph meter at the hardware store or do i need one that tests the run off. any other reasons why it could be looking like this??

Re: Sick Leaves spreading upwards!

its continuing

i havent been feeding it nutes. its in an organic soil mixed with vermiculite and i feed it a teaspoon of unsulphured mollases per gallon. i put about another tsp of lime juice per gallon in to try and raise the ph, hopefully that will fix it! does it look like it could be something else???

its spreading to more leaves but its still low and early enough that i dont think it will do much damage if i can fix it now! flower started oct10

edit : and a bud pic for good measure : )

Re: Sick Leaves spreading upwards!

Do you have any more pictures of your leaves? My plant is doing the same exact thing. I am in week 5 of flowering, and my lower fan leaves are turning yellow and I am getting orange and brown specs on them. It is soo weird and I still don't have any answers!!! grrrr. please let me know how yours turns out and what you did to fix your problem thanks

Re: Sick Leaves spreading upwards!

feed it u need Macro-nutrients (n-p-k) and Secondary Nutrients (mg and ca)
u have a nitrogen (n) and magnesium (mg) deficiency. she looks about 2 months old so all the food is used up in the soil, and nitrogen is usually the first to show up. try feeding it a heavy dose with a soil formula n-p-k nutrient, and heavey dose of cal-mag (calcium and magnesium)
then light dose of cal mag with every watering and feed every 3-4 waterings she should get back to normle in a week

Re: Sick Leaves spreading upwards!

get cal mag at any hydro stor or nursery, u can give it epsion sailt (magnesium sulfate) to take care of the mg dificiency, if the n-p-k formula says it good for soil it will work.

Re: Sick Leaves spreading upwards!

thank you so much! a couple more questions. would you advise i continue to put a little bit of lime juice in the water still to stabilize a healthy ph level? second, are the $6 soil ph meters at the hardware stores sufficient enough for this? thanks again

Re: Sick Leaves spreading upwards!

do not adjust the ph unless u know what the ph is at, yeah the cheap ones will do just test the water before every waterings also test the run off after u water, u should be watering with 6.0-7.0 for soil 6.8 is ideal

Re: Sick Leaves spreading upwards!

ok so i havent been able to find anywhere to get cal mag locally and i would rather not have to buy it online. would cal mag vitamin tablets or any variation of cal mag work instead or do i have to get the liquid calmag meant for plants

Re: Sick Leaves spreading upwards!

the way we absorb minerals and the way plants do are totally different (actually we can only absorb it after plants absorb it and make it soluble) if u cant get cal-mag, tap water (aftet it sits for 24h) has alot of minerals in it (some times to much) to take care of calcium and other secondary and trace minerals. also watering with epsion sait (magnesium sulfate) 1-2 tbls per gal of water, will treat a magnesium dificiency. the epsin salt must be completly dissolved in the water. a fast way of doing this is heat a qrt of water add 1-2 tbls stir then add to 3 qrts of room temp water
