| Flood and drain with exposed roots-question
as i said i am using a flood and drain table. the medium is clay pellets with 5" pots. so the roots of all the plants have grown through the bottom of the pots. at first i didnt worry figureing they would be fine but now i am starting to see some green algi or fungis start, very verry small amourt. i will take some pictures. the roots are really coming out the bottom, almost lifting the pots off the ground.
so my question is...
can i fill the drain table with pellets? just enough to cover the roots?
i dont think bigger pots are needed because i have seen pictures of full sized plants in the same size pots. mine are only around 3'.
will the roots be fine? they get wattered 8 times a day.
you can check out the system and pics in the grow journal
