Balancing PH Levels

I just moved reciently and am now on well water. It took me about a month to realize the water and soil combo in my little grow was wayyyy out of balance on ph. I had always set my ph at 6.3-6.5 prior to watering. Now using store bought RO water I think I am getting a handle on the prob but I am curious about something.

Should I use a lower PH in my water and assure that the runoff comes out at 6.3-6.5, adjusting it each time to come up with this ideal number? (ex...I watered with RO adjusted to 5.5 this Am to get the runoff out at 6.5) I have added garden lime already but it is a slow acting cure and I want to insure my plants don't get worse. Any word on this from the more knowlegable will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Balancing PH Levels

cant help you with the soil ph dont know nothing about it but depending on how old your plant is it will probally be pretty difficult to transferj. some seedlings could probally be done fairly easy due to a small root mass but if you have an established plant getting those roots free from the dirt and then clean enough to put into the dwc will be more trouble then its worth. and will probally also cause the plant a bunch of unecessary stress. if you do want to try it tho free the roots from the soil very gently without damaging any and them get some room temp water and dip roots in to try to remove soil. if you can acomplish that problem free you shouldnt have to much of a problem with a transfer. hope this helped.
