Seedlings Dieing 2 days old

Hello everyone, I am experience difficulties finding out why all my seedlings died out after the second day. I had great airflow circulation a 400w MH lamp it was about 18 inches away. I was thinking maybe I had it too close because the seedlings just turned dark yellowish color shrivled up and died. Should I start out with flurescent bulbs next time and wait until I see some pedals before transfering them to under a 400w hps/mh lighting system. Please someone help thanks

What kind of dirt you using? Im assuming your growing with soil? It may be too "hot" for seedlings. Also, Id go with flourescent bulbs for seedlings.

1.5 cubic feet 100% ORGANIC FOXFARM Ocean Forest Potting Soil.. I think it was too hot thats what my roomate said to. But on a few other post they told me to have it about 18-26 inches away from the plant. Im about to order 10 more seeds monday. What type of soil should I look into buying?

It shriveled up and died just 2 days after popping?

It needed water! Water them babies...but not too much...

I watered them twice. And they still looked really dry after about 2 hours being under the 400w MH light

I'd say seedlings need to be kept damp in the first of their medium. When they start to get their first growth change schedules.

18 inches under an MH is too close for a seedling. Should be more like 3 feet. Or yeah use a flouro on them early bits how I do it. And fox farm OF isn't 100% organic btw Nd is prolly to strong nuts wise for young seedlings. Fox farms happy frog soil is 100% organic though.

I would germ seedlings in rockwool for the first 10-14 days without food before I'd put them into soil.

alright I really appreciate all the feedback.. Im going to buy some rockwool cubes right now and order some more seeds. I think I am going to order The Church and White Widow and maybe 1 Blueberry all feminized.. what kind of flurocent light should I look into using. Can I use the one I use for my 80 gallon fish tank
