i need help my seeds won't germinate

i have the seeds between two paper towels they are wet and i have the in a dark box with a heating pad to keep them warm. do you have any ideas on how to make them germinate faster ???

also what am i doing wrong

Are they mature seeds? How long have they been germinating?

Try the cup of water method. It works fine for me.

Just drop the seeds you want germed into a warm cup of water, keep it dark. Should see results soonish.

I don't know if you know what to look for, but if they are white seeds they won't do shit. Many seeds are finicky, too. But trust me, I got my current two seedlings and another one on the way using this method. It may take a few days, but it's SO easy.

Cup + Warm Water + Darkness + Seed = Germination

I agree with KannaMan. I've had great success germinating by soaking for 12-24 hours then putting them into soil. Generally they've sunk to the bottom of the cup and have just cracked with the taproot barely visible. I see people who germ and have these huge taproots showing. I'd rather not risk damaging them so I wouldn't let them get that long. For extracting the seeds from the cup of water and placing them in the soil I use a plastic straw that's been cut at an angle, cheap and works well with no damage to the seed.

One last thing to mention, somtimes the seeds can have a pretty tough exterior, so you might want to scuff em up a bit before soaking. Just take a piece of sandpaper, roll it in a little tube with the grit on the inside, pour the seeds in and give a gentle shake for a minute. I did this with 10 C99 seeds I started 2 weeks ago and got 100% germination.

Also, in my current grow I had a seed germinate for a very long time. It had a 1.5" tap root by the time I could get it into soil (the LA Confidential plant).
