First grow & wilting leaves

Hi all
My brother got this plant from a friend because it wasnt being cared for properly and was dying. When I got it it seemed like the soil was very wet and the leaves were wilting like in the pictures so I told my brother not to water it for a couple of days. It's been 4 days since we got it but my brother went ahead and watered it a *little* on the 2nd day but it hasnt recovered any from when we got it (though it hasnt got worse either). The soil is still quite moist so i'm still leaning toward it being overwatered and not getting enough oxygen but I dont know for sure since this is my first grow. What do you guys think? Will this poor girl survive? The leaves aren't dead yet but I imagine they will be soon if I cant get it fixed

Looks like it could be over watering/underwatering. Also do u have a Light source other than the window? If not you need one. A general rule when watering is to stick your finger about 1inch deep in the soil to see if its moist. If its moist then you don't need to water.
