pH unbalanced? over fert? deficiency? Help!

Alright, this has been going on for weeks and I figured that it would fix itself, but it didn't. I flushed a week ago and they got a little better, but then a day or two later it kept getting worse. Here are the symptoms:

-First, yellowing/browning of the tips
-Next, yellowing and light green on blade edges of leaves
-Next, brown spots and yellowing/browning along veins
-Then, browning/bruising of entire leaf starting from tip
-Leaf branch fall off on its own

If I had to guess myself, I think its a Mg or Cal deficiency, but I really have no clue. I use fox farm BB, GB, and TB with happy frog fox farm soil. I only use distilled water on my plants and I water them regularly. I have found an occasional small fly buzzing around in the room (and killed him), but I am 95% sure its not bugs. I spent about 20 minutes just searching for bugs and found nothing. I am in the second week of flowering and idk if the plant will survive/be healthy until the end unless I fix this. PLEASE HELP!!!! (any input is greatly appreciated)

Re: Unknown Deficiency, Please Help!

Well the first thing, you appear to have spidermites also. If i'm right looking at those couple of pics, the ones with the black dots on them. That's usually spidermite poop. But I usually only see that with spidermites outdoors.

Are you balancing your pH of your water?

Re: Unknown Deficiency, Please Help!

Ok, well I can tell you that its not spidermites. The brown spots are not poop, they are bruising from the inside out. (should've put that in op)

I am not balancing the pH of my water. I guess I figured that distilled is as neutral as it gets. I will say that I've noticed my pH always being on the high side for soil, around 7.0.

I'm still not ruling out a Ca or Mg deficiency tho. Hopefully as more posts come in it will be easier to get a consensus.

Thanks for the input dbonics. Much appreciated!

Re: Unknown Deficiency, Please Help!

Here's an update of what I did/posted in my grow journal for today:

Well, two weeks down, quite a ways to go. Yeah I'm more than halfway done total, but it seems like forever ago that they were just little babies in there. The "disease" is progressing a little faster than I'd like, but I made my first attempt at fixing it today. I used my pH UP&DOWN kit for the first time today. Let me tell ya, its a lot more sensitive than one would assume. Like one drop of either UP or DOWN moves the pH about a whole point in a gallon of water. Anyway, I used water with a pH of 6.5, hoping that will help me. When I measured the pH before I watered, both plants were at about 7.0-7.1. I'm going to try to get it down to the target number (6.5) within two waterings. I don't want to do it all at once.

Re: Unknown Deficiency, Please Help!

hey bro, Im back since you seem to be willing to take some help now

the water reading 7-7.1 is the distilled correct? If so, that is very unlikely to cause the ph of the soil to get pulled up by that water. The ph of the soil being dragged ouy of range are almost always A. nutrient salts or acids bringing the ph below range and B. base particles being presnt in the water source (very common with tap water) or lime.

Did you do a soil runoff test to obtain the info thaat both "plants" were at about 7-7.1? I find it strange that the ph would be up there when you are starting with distilled water and using a nutrient linee fairly regularly. Those nutrients are often salts or crystalize into salts and give the soil a lower ph reading over time.

The probleem def appears to be a lockout since you are giving them nutrients..... cancels out a true defiiency being the culprit.

let me know about the soil ph thing.... we wanna get this shit cleared up before more fan leaves fall victim to it

Re: Unknown Deficiency, Please Help!

Should I just flush them again? I already did it like a week ago, but I just watered with 5.5 adjusted water today to try and keep bringing the pH down. Check my thread and see that my pH measuring supplies are innaccurate. I'm really stumped here and it seems like flushing might just be the best idea.
