pH problem

Hi im currently growing 2 plants in a DWC bucket, using Botanicare Organic nutes, currently vegging in its 3rd week, i'm using half the recommended nutes, and i try to keep my pH around 5.5 but every day or every other day it swings back up to just over 6. Is this normal? its growing pretty good but im concerned about the pH continually rising.

Re: pH problem

You probably have water that is high ph. It's a battle you'll be fighting until the end.

I had the same problem...my ph kept going up to 8...I couldn't keep it down without adding acid every day. I'm back to soil now...less yield for sure...but SO much easier.

Re: pH problem

Yeah my water is like 7.2, but even after i lower it the pH still climbs up. It jumps to 6-6.5 pretty fast.

Re: pH problem

whassup man..i dont know your system 2 well..so i cant be for sure..but im gonna say your plants are asking for more nutes..here's some helpful info for you..

Hydro cheat sheet:
Ec/PPM goes up, PH goes down=plants require less nutes.
Ec/PPM goes down, PH goes up=Plants require more nutes
Ec/PPM stable, PH goes up=Equilibrium=Good thang.

if your ph keep's rising...ur plants may be eating all the nutes your giving it therefor the buffer doesnt keep your ph stable...

but it could also be from hard water..or even dirty air pumps...hope this helps...
