first grow, ph problems

What type of medium? soil
What brand and type of soil? fox farm ocean forest
Indoors or outdoors? indoors
What strain? skunk
How old are the plants? first plant is 8 weeks, 2nd is 5 weeks or so
What type of lights and how many watts? 1000w hps
How far from the lights? 2.5 feet
What is your watering frequency and source of water? every 2 days, ph around 6
What, how much and when was it fed? 1/8 strength fox farm grow big for the first time on wednesday
What are the temps and humidity in the room? avg 77f, 20-30 rh
What size pots? first is 3gal, second is 1-2 quart not sure
Any bugs? fungus gnats

Runoff water was at like 3 for both plants, i've been using ph down to lower the water ph from 7.8 to like 6-6.5. First two pics are of a 8 week old skunk plant that has some yellowing leaves and brown tips. Second two are of a plant that i think is around 5 or 6 weeks that has brown tips that are starting to curl down, also something I thought was from heat (shown in pic 3.) Im guessing ph lockout? let me know. peace.

Re: first grow, ph problems

what are you using for ph testing, if a meter, you need to get the chem test kit from the pet shops, faulty meters are the cause of many ph problems and the chemy test kit are your backup/failsafe

your plants are going into ph lockout, deficiencies are showing as well as leaf twisting

your using too much ph down....lower to 6.8 from this point

flush to get the acid out, when your reading 6.8, flush 1 more gallon with 50% ferts

Re: first grow, ph problems

Im using a pool testing kit with the dyes. I actually saw your site and did exactly that, flushed and then last gallon with 50% nutes. Should i just use the correct ph water to fix this or use something to raise the ph in the soil?

Re: first grow, ph problems

since you have flushed already , take a wait & see till next watering, water enough to take another runoff sample to be certain you have your PH within acceptable limits if not repeat your flushing till the soil ph is correct
