Help with brown spots please?

I am a 63 year old newcomer to growing and this is my second effort. I have made a forum search and read what Cervantes and Green both have to say about this plant condition but would like further advice.

After 3 weeks I noticed some brown spots forming on one of six Strawberry Cough plants growing in my homemade bubbler. I am thinking this is a magnesium / calcium deficiency but not sure.

The little ones were getting 200ppm General Hydro Flora mix which I have now upped to 400ppm. They are presently six inches away from a 65 watt fluorescent fixture.

Any help or advice will be well appreciated.
