Ez Cloner PROBLEMS

I am on my third BATCH of clones in which the first 2 batches have failed.... And it seems like the changes i have made in this 3rd batch are beginning to yield the same results as the first two batches...FAILURE!!!

So my problem is that i am getting soggy stems on the stem exposed to the misting for root formation...

its a mushy stem and eventually the plant on top of the neoprene insert connected to the same stem gets weak and falls over.... aka they die.

Any clues?

I am cutting the stem under water at an angle 45 degrees, using clonex gel, and have the ph dialed in at about 6.0.... ANY ADVICE PLEASE!!!! I ALREADY PUT THE MOTHERS INTO FLOWERING SO I NEED TO GET THIS LAST AND FINAL BATCH OF CLONES TO ROOT!!

Re: Ez Cloner PROBLEMS

I had the same problems. try using just tap water for cloning. make the space between the lid and the surface of the water to about 4". set the mister on an inverted glass or something similar, to get the proper depth to create the mist. the smaller space worked really well. the next batch of clones was 100% sucessful. worked for me, hope it helps you.

Re: Ez Cloner PROBLEMS

wiat so is the water level suppose to be above the red little mister spray nozzles? I have the water level below the nozzles and if i put my finger in one of the holes where they get "misted" from... It doesnt get misted, more like rained on!! lol so am i suppose to literally be getting like a foggy mist?

okay this aint the same GC i was a part of 3 years ago.
community has gotten weaker as far as people who stay here vs. random foes who just ask a question than are never heard from again.

so maybe i can do the same and expect simlilar results.

WHY DO I GET SOGGY STEMS WHEN CLONING IWTH THE EZ CLONE!

Re: Ez Cloner PROBLEMS

whats your water temp?
how long till they get soggy?
Is it only 1 strain your trying?
any gray slime on cuts?
did you disinfect btwn cycle?

I use a little h202 35% when temps get over 70. to me i sounds like high temps as i have had a similar issue with temps.
