Hmm, how much are you watering it? What's the PH at? It could be Magnesium (Mg) deficiency as your leaves are curling upwards. Magnesium deficiency will show as a yellowing which would also be turning brown and crispy.

Should have made a new post instead of posting in someone elses, when they're having a different problem than yours. To help with spider mites, cleanliness is a must, but as you stated, you cleaned up pretty well. Since you're having these problems, make sure you wash your hands and all your tools, etc. before use could also help.
Homemade sprays often lack the strength to kill infestations though, there's a little recipe you can use; Dr. bonners soap, garlic, hot pepper, citrus oil, and liquid seaweed, but I haven't tested.
Insecticidal soap does a fair job of controlling mites. Two or three applications at 5-10 day intervals should help. Homemade sprays often lack the strength to kill infestations though, but it should help to keep them at bay, just incase they come back.
Also, don't use toxic chemicals for obvious reasons.
