Moldy situation

Hello, My current setup is the 7x7ft tent with 1600w 45-50% humidty 80F I have 2 fans blowing so there is good circulation. But for some reason when it comes to harvest my buds have little spots of mold its like purplewhite color and fuzzy. This has happpened for the past 4 harvests and its not on all the plants sometimes only certain ones are affected. I do use cardboard boxes to help raise the plants do you think the boxes could be holding moisture and starting the mold? The area is kept relatively clean other than the occasional dead leaf and minor water spills when trying to water. Anyone got any ideas that could help rid me of this problem cause it is so annoying waiting all this time to grow the plant and when you harvest its worthless.

Yea same here, it builds up on the main colas where its all nice and dense and when you go to pick it off sometimes the mold reaches pretty far into the bud.

I feel your pain my man .. I have sufferd thru this same problem recently also...my answer was a dehumidifier....kinda costly at 120 bucks ( refurbished thru overstock.com)

the mold is called Botritys ( aka: grey mold, bud rot, etc.), it can be transfered by touch ..so wash your hands after handeling any infected plant material, and make sure you clean your grow room and all growing apparatus ( pots, support stakes,screens..anything that may of had contact with spores) that were being used by the infected plants.

neem can control it early on ..unfortunatly most buds don't get dense enough to make a good home for the mold till late into budding when it is too late to spray, but detering the start, is the key to stopping the spread..so an application 2 weeks befroe harvest MAY be ok..its all up to your comfort level with spraying stuff on your buds I guess

get your humidity below 40% ( 30 would be wonderful ) and you should see an improvment ..if not, maybe another "less dense " producing strain might be an option (the last option if the shit is really sticky icky IMHO)

sorry for your loss, better luck in the future

yes the mold starts at the stem where it is warmest and moistest..then works its way out ..buy the time you see it ..its all over the inside of your buds.

For what it's worth, I harvested plants just a couple days after spraying neem w/ antibacterial soap and didn't notice any negative qualities about the harvest.

Other than that, I generally agree with what ya posted.

Re: Moldy situation

You have to clean your whole room and everything in it with a bleach water solution. Spore will hangout for years then start growing when conditions are right.
