Purple or black stains on leaves and stems

What's up GC. I just saw an unresolved thread on this 20 minutes ago and realized it's the same thing I have going on. I went to take pics and when I got back I couldn't find the thread. Maybe it's in another section so here goes. This is something new to me, so I hope you all can help.

This is affecting only two or three of my potted plants. They are being grown in 45 gallon smartpots with a peat based mix. All other plants are healthy, and this is the only branch that has this going on quite so severely. I don't know if you can see from these pics, but the leaf tips are also twisting a bit and are cupped upward. This particular plant has had cupped leaves quite a lot, but this purple is something new. Earlier in the season this particular plant was eaten up pretty good by leafhoppers and aphids (notorious disease bearers as you all know), and is getting eaten just a bit now, but I think it's because it's unwell. This particular plant is LSTd, but the others were not. Whatever it is seems to be getting worse, but only affects certain branches. My nutes are Biocanna and I apply per manufacturers instructions. A couple of weeks ago all plants were given a standard dose of epsom salts. I don't really know what else to put here, so here's the pics.

BTW, I'm not interested in your best guess--I can do that on my own. Only those with experience in this need respond. Not trying to be a dick, but this is serious. Thanks.

Re: Purple or black stains on leaves and stems

Couple of questions whats the temps been at night? What kind of soil do you have them in? Is more purple or black? What does the growth below the purple spots? The only thing that comes to mind is phosphorus def. But I will break out the horticulture books in the morning and look through the desiese section. Your in the south, right? Well good luck. I will hit you up when/if i find anything.

Re: Purple or black stains on leaves and stems

My first thought on this was purpling from the cool nights we've been having. Yes, it's more purp than black. But then this upward curling started and I bagan to think the two were somehow related. However, after talking to some people I'm beginning to think that they are not. The purple is standard purple--a cool weather response. In addition to that I have a slight cal mag def and may have started my bioflores a bit late. Thanks everyone and all those who PM'd--especially less.

Re: Purple or black stains on leaves and stems

If i continues its a phosphorus def. due to the cold weather. Wet, cold soil makes it really hard to take up phosphorus. Good luck out there.
