Hydro Lemon Haze - Spots

Hello everyone,

To start off, I want to thank you for assisting me with this. It has me worried sick. This is the only plant I have, and I have put a lot of effort into this.

--- Stats ---
What type of medium; soil or hydro?
Hydro - bubble bucket (http://forum.grasscity.com/advanced-...emon-haze.html)
What brand and type of soil?
N/A
Indoors or outdoors?
Indoors
What strain?
Super Lemon Haze - 60% sativa 40% Indica
How old are the plants?
13 days
What type of lights and how many watts?
100w CFL bulbs x4 (I have not introduced the LED yet
How far from the lights?
Roughly 6". Pleas review the grow for more pictures (http://forum.grasscity.com/advanced-...emon-haze.html)
What is your watering frequency and source of water?
I am using standard RO water that was left in a bucket to 'adjust' for 48 hours. No nutes, just water for the time being. The bucket has not been filled yet. The water is JUST touching the bottom of the rockwool cube.
What, how much and when was it fed? NPK?
It has just had water, it is too small to begin nutes
What is the medium/runoff pH and PPM if in hydro?
I was told use basic RO water and don't worry about the pH until the introduction of GH (General Hydroponic)
What are the temps and humidity in the room?
Room/case temp is at a steady 74.5 degrees F
What size pots?
6" pot with a 5 gallon bucket
Any bugs? Look real close.
None - it is a clean environment
Any other pertinent info?
Yes, look at the pictures, I can clearly see some discoloring.
With the above questions answered, here is where I stand. As you can see, there are spots developing on this poor thing. I am lead to believe this is due to malnurishment (since it is just in standard RO water).

Does anyone else have insight on the next steps I can take to care for this? I don't want this plant to die, and I need to treat this as a science experiment with precise details.

Thank you in advance to anyone who is able to assist or provide input.

hmm... looks a little yellow... the RO water you're using should be at an adequate pH, but the yellow makes me lean toward a pH issue, or overwatering. sometimes rockwool holds too much water for little seedlings. I'm hoping someone with a little more experience with seedlings can help out here, as I have more exp. with clones than seedlings...

sorry I can't be more help man. Best of luck.

Thank you,

I will re-check the water levels again to ensure my adjustment properly worked. But so I am clear, just have the water hardly touching the bottom of the Rockwool cube, correct?

If that is so, I would have to bet my money on the pH. I am going to find a pH tester TODAY to test out the water (my electronic one didn't come calibrated and I have to buy calibration solution....)

dont put any nutes in there, it will die. looks to me like to much water, if the rockwool is actually touching the water imo it will be to saturated, lower the water level so you can control how wet the rockwool is, that stuff is like a wick and touching the water its putting the whole bottom of your plant under water

Thank you for your prompt response. The Rockwool cube was roughly 50% submersed in water when I started. It is now touching it about 1cm. From what you and Unclenugs are saying, I should just have that water touching the bottom of the pellets and wicking up into the Rockwool cube?

Attached is an image of where my water level is, can you please tell me where I need to have it? I am still a little un-confident.

Thank you,

Re: Hydro Lemon Haze - Spots

water should be below the rockwool, not touching it at all. rockwool stays soaking wet for a long time after water touches it, if you soak one in water the put it on your counter top it will stay soaking wet for days. just lower the water so its not touching rw at all, you can eyeball the rockwool from time to time to make sure its not all the way dried out.
once your roots grow down into the water your golden

Fantastic, I will set that up tonight.

How long until I begin to see the spots go away? They have me scared haha.

Thank you again

Re: Hydro Lemon Haze - Spots

well the rw will stay pretty wet for a few days, I dont know how you could speed that up.
you dont want to sqeeze water out or you would damage those tender roots.
I say lower it asap, it will start lookin better in a couple days.
I have super lemon haze seeds from greenhouse for my grow after the ones I have in vegg. looks like an awesome strain

Changes made, awesome.

I am still worried, but only time will tell. The second two leaves coming in are pretty yellow.

Thank you guys,

Re: Hydro Lemon Haze - Spots

Well folks,

The plant seems to be decaying in its state of health. I cannot figure this out. The growth (upward) has come to a halt. However there is a root (single strand) roughly 2-3ft long in the water.

The leaves are turning yellower, the spots are growing, and nothing seems to be working. Can anyone else provide some more light no the situation? I would really like to know what I did wrong so I don't make the same mistake.

Thank you in advance for your support everyone,

P.S. - Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I had to take this with my phone.

Re: Hydro Lemon Haze - Spots

Yes, and the water is hardly touching the hydrotron pellets. I am at a loss. Is there anything I can do? or am I just stuck playing the waiting game?

Re: Hydro Lemon Haze - Spots

well if you havent gave her any water and its still that wet Id lower the water to below the hydroton, then keep an eye on her so she doesnt dry out all the way.. sounds strange and not what people normaly do but if it stays that wet its going to die
