Cutting some branches?

Hey GC,
Got somes plants 20 days into flowering, some of the lower branches arent recieving enough light from the hps and they have tiny to no bud on the nodes, should i cut (maybe clone) them from the main stem to help water get to the branches that are budding? and will spritzing the buds w/water once or twice a day help at all?

I personally don't trim bottom buds but it's a preference thing more than anything else, I think.

Some say you are redirecting the energy to the bigger top buds, but back when I first started growing I tried both ways and really didn't see any difference.

And if needing to revegitate to get a mother of a good strain, that bottom third of the plant will be needed.

Thanks, im not sure what ill do, what did you mean when you said that though? u mean if im x'ing?^^

I try to trim thru veg. when the plants hearty up, and only into the first 2 weeks of flower then I stop trimming/pruning.

I personally have seen a fairly nice increase of main colas when some of the smaller branches are pruned.
