Trying to clone

Ok, I have a mother purple kush plant (beautiful) and I tool 5 clippings off to clone. Here is what I did, I cut them with a sterile razor blade and kinda pealed away the skin on the bottom of the clone and dipped it in clonex and then put them in a peat pot. all the leaves wilted like the directions said they would. Now a few of the very small leaves have perked back up and the stalks feel healthy but all the bigger leaves are crispy. I don't know if this is normal or what but it has also been 108 Degrees here too. They have good water, Any help is appriciated!!

Re: Trying to clone

cover them with something clear like a humidity dome so that the relative humidity is high ( like 80%) and then mist them like twice a day with some pH balanced water and a bit of superthrive now and again. They should be fine, their roots will still form but it will take a lot of time.

Re: Trying to clone

imo peeling the skin is unnecessary and harmful, take cuttings so you have a couple inches below the first node, apply gel, bury in new potting soil up to just below the node, place pot in a tray with enough water in the bottom to just dampen the bottom of the pot, mist the plant, mist the inside of a dome and cover. keep light low (cfl's or tubes are way plenty). trim any larger leaves to 50%. the cuttings will probably wilt initially, but if they dont fully stand back up by the next morning, there is a problem. no way should you have any leaf browning or drooping after first day. also, dont mist after first time, water on leaves is heavy, if humidity is high in the dome, they will be fine. you should see the resuming growth in 10+ days, then out of dome and transplant to veg size pot.
