beat the heat

Just threw my plants into flowering about 2 weeks ago, but my room is getting too hot. Currently I got a 600 watt hps running durring the day, and off at night, but want to switch that around because of the heat.

what's the best way to switch the light from being on during the day, to being on at night without interrupting flowering??

Re: beat the heat

I've been in a similar situation.

Switching the light cycle is going to effect your plants no matter how you do it.

What I did was when the light was suppose to be on the day I switched I left it off. Skip the next light cycle and start.

Say I was lighting 12AM to 12PM. I would skip the 12AM to 12PM so the plants were in darkness a full 24hrs. Then I would begin a lighting cycle from 12PM-12AM. Well I think you get it. It's better to leave them in 24hrs dark than 24hrs light when doing something so radical.

Your plants won't like it much at first but they should adjust.

Re: beat the heat

i agree with dark. Its much easier for them to bounce back from all dark then all light.

Re: beat the heat

yea thank you for the advice. I had a couple ideas of how to go about the switch, but that one seems the most efficent. hopefully they will adjust to the change smoothly.
