Please help somone!!

Ok so ive posted up allready in "Absolute Begginers" but been told i should post it here. The thread in question is http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-...roach-now.html

Ive had alot of trouble with growing so far and i just want it to work just once so i know its possible for me in the current situation im in, such as limited space, money and resorces. 90% of what ive lerned has come from GC and alot has come from all the fuck ups ive done, im going to explain as much as i can

My Grow room

1. Dimentions - roughly 3x5x2 "closet grow as its called"
2. Walls coverd in foil, i know this is bad
3. One 125 watt 6500k blue spectrum CFL
4. One reflector (came with the light)
5. 9inch fan on the lower setting for now

If you havnt looked at the link my problem is this, i recently got the CFL and its only been in use for 2 days and thats when the burning started 2 happen so to me its obviose the light is causing the problem i just dont know how. When i first installed the light it was 1-2 inches above the plant and after a 20 hour blast it looked a mess. I then raised the light the next day (yesterday) and made it 5 inches or so above the plant, when i came home from work it looked slightly bigger but not by much and the leaves looked abit worse.

Im going to take a few more pictures to maybe help someone help me,

1. My reflector its about 50cm long and 35cm wide
2. My 125 Cfl
3. The rest are a few random pics of my injured baby

I hope ive given enough information to make it easier for somone to identify the problem or tell me how to fix it. Oh and thought id mention a few other things, the soil im using is 100% organic, mixed in with about 1/4 perlite an 2/5 fertalizer, not sure if that was a good move but it did ok 2 start with. The cheap lights i had befor had the plant looking great just stupidly slow growth.

raise the lights a bit and try cooling with a fan

I have a fan in ther but due to the light and reflector being so big the fan cant hit the plant wich is a shame because ive had the plant blowing sinse i bought it. How far away would u suggest i hang it? And my grow room is 20-21 degrees and when the lights on it takes it to 26- 29 if that helps, im not worrying about the low heat at times for now as i can sort that out after, thanx for the input mate!!

raise it high enough not to hurt the plant, as it recovers begin to lower it till you find the happy place...just go slow with changes the lite change was a shock to the plant

85F temps is getting near the high side without good airflow in that small space

Thanx alot mate im going to have it about 6 iches above the plant for the next few days and see what happends, thats helped out alot ill keep everyone updated on this grow. Ill try keep the tempz down i have made my own ghetto vent with the fan blowing on it lol Thanx again mate!

hey dude. im using the 250w versions of your lights so maybe i can offer some help..

the first thing that you can do to help with heat is flatten out the refector. it should be easy to bend and having it cupped around the plant like that is also cupping heat around the plant. if you cant shift that heat with the fan then itll eventually burn. remember heat always tries to rise... if you bend that reflector back, a little way the opposite to how it was. then it will allow alot more heat to rise above the level of the plant - which is a good thing until you can get some extraction or something going..

will flattening the reflector out help you get the fan hitting the plant too? you really need the air from the fan directly on the plant.

heres the good news..
ive got my 250w about 1 inch from the top of my plants
with a little tweaking you should definately be able to do the same with 125.

Nice one for that mate was exactly what i needed, ill try and bend the reflector and get the fan on the plant as soon as possible, i still dont understand how u got ures so close being so powerfull thought it would burn your plant to. Its perked up more now but i want the light closer so it grows faster, ill take a look at your grow and get some more information, cheers again mate!!

I did what slanesh suggested and bent my reflector but now the new leaves have come out damaged and the light is atleast 5 inches away, im starting to think maybe i should flush my plant because i mixed fertalizer in with my organic soil, may this have caused the problem? Or could i be underwatering? tho i water every other day about a quater cup at the base of the plant, and the temp is only around 27-28 c with the lights on, im so confused thers so manny things it could be. Ill upload a pic of the new growth damage...
The other pic is what i smoked last night some imature cheese (apparently) thanx for helping me so far people im learning alot

Looks more like nute burn to me than light/heat. Flushing would be a good idea.

Never, ever mix fertilizer into an organic soil mix. Feed them after they are growing with teas and the like if you're going all organic.

ok mate im going to go and do that know, ive never done it before tho, i know how much to use but should i leave it to drain untill the water stops dripping through the holes and then put it back in my grow room? Or do i leave it to dry for a few days? cheers mate

Just let it drain out then put it back. As for how much, just water it until it starts to run out the bottom then let it drain.

It's heat stress and light burn.

Slanesh has a 250w cfl, you have a 250w hps, big difference in heat and light intensity.

Actually i said i have a 125 CFL i dont have a HPS i wish i did but that would deffinatly burn my plant, it looks much better now ive flushed it, im hopin it will keep at it and keep up the good progression, i currently have the light 4 inches from the plant, as it gives of virtually no heat so i dont see why i shouldnt be able to have it close. Slaneshis light is twice the power of mine and has no problems so i must have a seperate problem to heat, unless im just missing something... Thanx for the help people!!

Hello again, like i said earlier my plant has shown good progress sinse i flushed it, ill post up new pictures tomorrow after work. I have some feed on the way to see me through veg and flower, aslo have some white reflective material coming that ill put over the shitty foil , Apparently it will also help with keeping light in and out of my closet. Ive come into some funds so can anyone suggest anything good to add to my grow room 2 assist my plants? Oh and one more thing should i trim of the dead parts of the leaves or should i clip the entire leaf off? if so where abouts do i do this? Thanks people
