Unhappy Magnesium def. using Cal mag for first time

hey gc, ive got a girly under 200 ish real watts of cfl, mixed spectrums, in some FFOF. been feeding it BioBloom once a week since i switched to 12/12 its been flowering for oh 30 days, give or take. This morning, i noticed a few young leaves on the side bud turning yellow and brown with dead spots and curling upwards, i though maybe ph, so this morning was her clean water feeding and right before lights out, i noticed 2 more leaves affected, then the big giveaway LIGHT GREEN BANDING on the fans, i new immediately what it was

MY question is: if i just fed my girl her weekly nute, then just gave water today, will i burn my plant if i add some botanicare Cal Mag next water?? any advice appreciated, i just dont want to burn it or hurt my yeild anymore than it already is... thanks for readin.

it sounds similar to something i was dealing with around week 4 of my flowering. while it may be a calcium or magnesium deficiency, it may not be due to a lack of calcium or magnesium in the soil. do a pH runoff test (give your plant a gallon or two of pH balanced water, then measure the pH of the water that runs out the bottom). i wouldn't be surprised if the pH is lower than you might think, which will cause a calcium/magnesium nute lock out (among other nutrients). if the soil pH is low, then adjust with some pH up until the soil is where you want it (6.5ish), flush with a bunch of pH balanced water after raising the pH, wait a couple days for the soil to dry, then start feeding some calmag and/or her normal nutrient regiment. it worked pretty well for me.

+ rep for some personal insight! much appreciated. my ph is at ranoff at 6.7 when flushing with 7.0 thats what lead me to my mag def. i hear that it is possible to have lockout around 6.5 and because im in soil, theres most likely a hotspot in ths soil thats alittle more base than acid. i am going to water with ph balanced once more, then do the cal mag additive, because only 2 branches are actually affected by it.. thanks again cheifton!

just to put in my .02. i recently had the same problem on only two leaves per plant. i thought it wasnt bad so i didnt give full dose of cal-mag+(prob about half) and many more leaves were lost within a day!

i quickly added the full dose as it was res change time anyways and the problem seemed to clear up in about 2 days with any damaged leaves never to recover. but have not had a problem since then so it must've done the trick

here's a pic of the START of the cal-mag problem:

maybe my experience will help you
