why so yellow?

i'm pretty sure the ph is alright, unless these strains are rediculously picky when it comes to ph.

why are these lil gals so pale?

Re: why so yellow?

you need to give more info. how often do you water? what's the temperature? humidity? what's the grow space like? what kind of lights are you using? what kind of soil? the more info you can give, the more likely it is for someone to diagnose the problem

Re: why so yellow?

I tried making my own thread but for some reason I can't (I just get a blank page when I submit). So I'm just gonna post here because I'm having a similar problem:

First grow ever. Strain is Paradise White Berry. Using potting soil with no added nutrients yet. Due to circumstances I can't have a steady stream of light, but it gets about 14-18 hours of light (daylight bulbs) per-day on average. Watered with purified water. Avg temp is about 85° and humidity 50% on avg.

It's growing at a steady rate (albeit very slowly), but like I said in the title, for every set of leaves that grows, another dies. Someone stole my G13 Labs Thai Skunk & The Church seeds, and one of my plants (which was going at a faster rate BTW), so she's all I have left. Her survival is imperative. What can I do to insure that?

I think the problem is overwatering because my brother was growing it for me for awhile and the dumbass wouldn't listen to my directions. AFAIK he was watering it every day. Or maybe I just need to add nitrogen?

Re: why so yellow?

Same generic Home Depot potting soil in all the pics, just more of it in the first pic (I had to move it to a smaller cup for stealthiness). As you can see in the second pic I added a small layer of backyard dirt because I thought it might help, and I topped it all off with more soil (as you can see in the two later pics).

Re: why so yellow?

soil for ur seedlings is important. i had the same problem starting my current veg crop. i planted ten seeds in 3 different types of soil. a few in cheap wal-mart everyday potting soil, a few in straight worm castings and a few in high quality fox farm potting soil. the difference was plain to see. while the seedlings in the worm castings grew quickly and seemed healthy at first, the abundance of nutrients eventually burned the litte babes and i was forced to transplant. they survived. the few that i planted in the wally world special all died. all but one. the fox farm seedlings were incredibly healthy throughout the whole life cycle and are still flourishing!! at first i didnt think the soil was that important for a seedling, i was convinced that it needed the good ish at it's later stages of life. this little experiment proved to me that it is imparitive to start all of your babies with a quality soil to increase the chances of survival in the early stages of life and survival throughout. i guess i could have just said use better soil. hope you get that girl back to life buddy. also, overwatering could be a problem as well. its common to overwater seedlings. especially in peet pots, like this threads starter is using. the peet pots suck up all the moisture and it seems as if the plants are too dry but they arent. good luck guys

Re: why so yellow?

Ok, I gave her some nitrogen and magnesium yesterday, but she seems to be getting worse already. Notice the yellowing on the tiny new leaves? Nitrogen burn possibly?

(Different camera, BTW; she's not as green as she looks in this pic.)

Re: why so yellow?

possibly. how did you feed it? you need to snip the dead leaves too. they are wasting energy. the new growth looks good but if you say its not that green then you must have a nice camera. with a seedling that young u cant really do much but wait and dont over water. i hope she gets better
