we really need a picture to know what it is you mean by "curling downward". plants that are over watered tend to have a downward limp look to them. downward curling of the ends of leaves sometimes means over fertilization. sometimes its a temp issue if they are too hot. pH can also be a problem. without pictures its impossible to diagnose.
