Help! How can i fix root rot? Please Help!

My plants are in the flowering stage.I just flushed them with water about a week ago. Now im noticing a weird smell coming from the plants. Im starting to suspect Root Rot! The plants are in 5 gallon buckets with organic soil. i have holes on the bottom and even some at the sides near the very bottom. Does any one have any solutions? Please help!

What does it smell like? is it like the smell from the bottom of a pond? if so you must of heavily watered in the past,i have never dealt with rootrot in plants but many times with grass its known as black layer in turf terms,curable with turf but im unsure with plants all i can say is maybe transplant to a slightly bigger pot,plenty or airation (prod some holes in soil leave them open) let the air get in to the roots to allow them to breath avoid water for a little while to let the soil dry more and avoid sulphur,,hope its any help mate

try looking into mixing a small amount of hydrogen peroxide in water, i read that the oxygen released eats away the dead roots... just click the link
