Half my plant is alive!

I have been growing a strain of AK47 in my closet for almost 2 months now. But I've had some problems. I originally planted the clone in fox farm soil in probably an 8 in pot. I was using some water one of my friends gave me which had nutrients and other things in it to help it grow faster. They knew the water was good for it. I had two different sets of fluorescent lights, like the ones I would use in my iguana cage. Always with the lights 2 inches from the tops of the plants. I grew it for a month and it was looking great. Then one day I noticed the leaves were starting to drupe. Then they started to drupe harder and harder as the week progressed. I thought I had watered it too much so I stopped watering it. At this time all the leaves were still very dark green and the stalk itself was green, but it looked like it had no life in its leaves. I finally went to the hydroponics store in my area and talked to the sales associates there and told them my problems. They asked if I had rocks in the bottom of the soil to let water drain through and I did not. Also they asked about the ph in my water which I was not sure about. I told them about the special water I had and told them I thought I over watered it, but had never seen water drain out the bottom. He told me I probably had a blockage of nutrients from the water, down at the bottom of my soil and the plant couldnt digest the nutrients properly. So he told me to replant it, gave me some root accelerator, and a ph testing kit with ph up and down. So then I bought some organic soil from a nursery and replanted her. I got the Ph to 6 and watered her again. Over night I noticed growth. The bottom leaves all started to hop back up. Life again!! But after a week only half the plant has grown back. The top half looks dead and I dont know if I keep needing to wait or snip it and move the lights lower agian. This is where I was hoping someone could give me suggestions from my picture I will post. Come on guys, what do I do now?

Crop it and hope for the best. The dead section will never come back to life, I assure you.

Re: Half my plant is alive!

the dead section will not grow back, i would just trim it.

also go to walmart and pickup a few 23 or 42 watt flourescent lights, more the better, but more light = more heat

and put a fan on that thing its lookin kinda limp

Yeah, cut the dead parts. I like to cut any leave more than 40% damaged.

Grab the 42 watt CFL bulbs. I just got some today actually. They are as bright as fuck and should cover a little under a square foot apiece. For only 9.97 you cant go wrong.
