First grower - yellowing/browning of leaves, little height

The two germinated seeds were put in the soil on March 1st, therefore it's been 28days since planted.

What type of medium; soil or hydro?
soil
What brand and type of soil? miracle grow
Indoors or outdoors? indoors
What strain? mulberry
How old are the plants? 28days
What type of lights and how many watts?
40watte
How far from the lights? 4-5inches
What are the temps and humidity in the room?
78-82 degrees, unsure on humidity
Any bugs? Look real close.
negative

I started these two particular seedsfrom a good batch of KB and the two seeds were the only ones in the batch. I made a temporary closet grow set up while I finished building a better one. I am about to move them to the new grow space, but first am wondering if this is a normal looking set of plants for the time it's been. I know the current set up is not ideal, but the new grow set up has ventilation built in, 3 60watt lights, and enough room for 20-30 good size plants. I am hoping that once out in the new grow space where I have already started growing a new batch (a week old, all looking very healthy and growing fast) that these two particular plants will thrive.

My question is, are these plants doomed? Is the browning/yellowing of the first set of leaves normal about a month into the grow? And should it have been more filled out by now? Lastly, what is recommended to get these to thrive again?

miracle grow is not the best because it has nutes and that sometimes causes browning and yellowing...i had that problem early on...you definitely need more lights, for 28 days in the plants are way way to small

Yup its the soil. Transplant to something better and separate those two. One plant per pot.

i think your slow growth is due to your mg soil and your lack of lighting. you can drop 20 bucks and get enough cfls to keep your plants happy. take it from my failures, lighting lighting lighting. good luck man

You 100% need more lighting. and you need to re-pot with some selfmade soil. the MG soil is bad because your plant grows to fast with no yield. make sure you have outdoor air ventilation coming in and 84 dagrees in the day 75 dagrees at night. soil looks a bit wet, dont over water them. transplant into 2 2 gallon buckets for best yeild and get new lights! thats for growing like a little yiest

Re: First grower - yellowing/browning of leaves, little height

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions! I have moved the two plants out to my newly built grow box with much bigger space, more lighting, and an overall better set up. My only question on the pot container size:

What does it matter overall if the plant is in a medium-sized pot rather than a gallon or more pot? As long as there's enough space for roots and enough soil to have a firm foundation, does it effect the yield/height?

Re: First grower - yellowing/browning of leaves, little height

During flowering, plants usually double in size, actually at least double in size. So if your roots are close to using up all the space that they're using in veg, you'll be root bound in flowering and therefore will lose yield potential.

Definitely get them in they're own separate pots though. Never put multiple seeds in the same container. "Only the strong will survive." Seriously, the roots will get tangled, you'll have only half as much soil per plant, and usually the stronger one will live and the other will die.

Not a problem, keep us updated. You've got a lot of work ahead of you. Better soil, better lights, separate bigger containers and you may still have a pH or nutrient issue. Keep at it though, it'll click and you'll be so glad you went through all of these 'growing pains'!

firstly mate to increase the strength of the main stems i repetatively bend the stems when very young. this forces the plant to toughen up.

as for the seed situation i would recommend buying some seeds they only take a few days to arrive. Thats fast.

depending on the age of your plants and the light cycle your girls show white hairs, pistls, emerging from female flowers arond most internodes. a male doesn't have any pistils.
