Bad choice on the soil.... what additional nutes are you using? If nothing is the answer, then that is also your answer (IMHO) as to partly why you're seeing this.

Does your water have chlorine(will evaporate)... or chloramine(doesnt evaporate)?

what type of miracle gro soil? Does it say "feeds plants for up to 9 months" on it? It could be lack of nutes if you're using the non-time-release soil (this is easier to fix than if you used the time-release). That doesn't explain the turning up of the leaf, mine have curled under when that happens. What's the temp like at the top of the plant? It's curious that the lower leaves are unaffected, that would be the typical nute burn I think, starting at the lower leaves and moving upward? I'm no expert so please feel free to correct me.

If that's entirely the problem it should...it's probably not the best nutes ever but it's certainly better than nothing. You've never confirmed your temps or exactly which miracle gro soil product you're using so it's hard to say. I'm not stoned like I was last night...it REALLY looks burned in my opinion....I would think a nute problem would be a whole plant or bottom-up type of problem. The curling up of the leaves is a reaction to high temps and the dead part looks like actual burn. Anyone else feel differently?

Every time you water, you're adding/releasing nutes, so don't add that fertilizer unless you're past 3 months or so. If you already have then just keep a watch on the plant but don't water more than needed, that will only compound the problem.

| Re: Problems With Leaves On First Grow Maybe not, just leave them be for a few days....I mean don't let them dry out like they suddenly got moved to a desert but the more you water the more nutes you release from those time realease balls in the soil. Hopefully you've alreay watered enough to release all of those nutes already....I find that the MG time release is "feed for 3 months" but only if you have to water a couple times a month during that time....since you're in a small container that you've likely watered a couple times a week or more, you hoenstly may have used up that stuff already, or at least released it into the soil. It's all really hard to tell....all you can really do is watch. Keep the conditions normal and see what happens.
