I am a novice grower who has only one crop under my belt. My last crop was hit hard with spider mites and from late veg to end of flower they stayed around in the masses.
Now at the first sign of the infestation, I went to the local grow store and bought some Monterey Insecticide (
http://www.montereylawngarden.com/products/insects/). When I spoke with the clerk about what was out there and what would be best for me to use that is what he suggested and I took his word. He wrote a mixture on the side of the bottle for me to use, and said he had the best results with that mixture (15 ml to 1 gallon).
When I arrived back at the grow room I was eager to go in and blow the mites away. I mixed up the solution written on the bottle and started spraying away.
Over the next few days the mite infestation subsided, and I was very pleased. Soon after however they were back in the same force as before.
Also, lowering the temp to 65 degrees Fahrenheit to slow their reproduction worked for a bit as well, but it reverted back to a larger infestation.
I did more research and found several other possibilities (the one on the sticky says us bleach, but that sounds pretty nuts) and I am not to sure on what other growers like to use or do
