Im throwing out 45 plants

I grow pot, and my friends grow fruits and veggies. We trade. I live off the land, and I've been pretty dam# good at it. BUT, my latest batch is sick, and I have given up. I got powdery mold, used bakng soda, which seemed to work, but plants continued getting sicker. So, I tried a small amount of hydrogen peroxide/water foliar spray. powder seems dead, but plants are 1 month old, and about 2 inches tall. I use all the same stuff as usual, nursary expensive dirt, distilled water, florescent lights until they get vegging, just nuted them slightly, which helped the strongest ones, but not the weakest. Roots have no rot, but are not growing. PH is 6.8 Room is 70 degrees. Ventilation is just OK. I thought once i killed the mold, things would get better but they are not. I have given up unless anyone has any ideas. Can powdery mold be that deadly? Thanks for any ideas.

Sounds like you're on the right track Buzz, however, without bearing witness to just how bad of a problem you've got there (via a picture), I can't really give sound advice on whether or not to give up on forty some odd cannabis plants. Sure would hate to see that happen Lets give them time and keep positive energy around them. Just maybe with a little luck things will perk up

Before you send 40+ girls to an untimely death, perhaps you should use an enzyme based product. I've used Hygrozyme for a couple of grows, and I can say one thing for sure......if you have pathogens inhibiting growth, Hygrozyme eats up the proteins they create, and restores health and vigor to the root zone.

IMHO I would give this a try before giving up........Good luck.

Re: Im throwing out 45 plants

Thanks! I am going to try that. I am needing to get better yields, because I am hardly breaking even on my grows, when I remove the electricity bill etc. I tell you, I am considering giving up and growing chickens instead, as this pot thing is a constant learn as you go commodity. I am not trying to be a dealer, just do my part in this community we have going, where all people chip in, and everyone gets their needs met. Chickens also keep me out of lookin over my shoulder all the time. Ha -chickens for pot, what a trade!

Re: Im throwing out 45 plants

Ha ha. I live about 3 hours from where you posted that you live! I have a small farm, and am enjoying it. I left the city of Phoenix, which was pure cement, no one spoke English,(we were one of 3 families in our son's school that did) and we were broken into 26 times in 5 years. Now, the only time I reach for my gun, is when I hear a wild animal that sound big in the woods. God Love it! People are poor, but real, and we all pitch in to take care of one another. I think that is the way it should be...at least it works for us.Take care,Buzz

I feel your pain brother !!! I have waged some epic wars against Powdery Mildew and have taken my fair share of hard hits in the battles.

Keeping in mind that the white powder is the fruit and not the spore its important to focus on treating PM sytemically. Mere leaf dressings will do little good once the spores are inside your plants.

The secret to PM management is not to get it, and the best prevention is healthy plants. Stressed plants are signifigantly more apt to get PM than healthy ones.

My current regime includes:

-plenty of mychrohyzhea at transplants and then watered in every week there after

-huge focus on maintaining perfect conditions. Too hot, Too moist, Wrong nutes .... is a perfect recipe for a PM outbreak.

-Rotating daily Foliar sprays of: 1. Neem 2. Kelp and Silicate 3. B-1 and Cal Mag

-Sulfur Burning during vege. Sulfur is one of the few true fungicides that can treat a sytemic outbreak. Most other sprays and home cures are Fungistats ... they help ward off PM but do not help much once the PM gains hold.

-If its a small outbreak quicky desroy or remove that plant from the general garden. The loss in yeild from a few destroyed plants will be less than losing an entire crop.

Keep the faith and give the goddess another shot !!
