Lightbulb CFL light too big for socket...what do I do?

Well folks, I have a bit a problem I found this light which I though would be amazing, because it is only 65w and claims 7,000 lumens which is the Highest efficiency I could find, but I made a stupid and didn't see that it will not fit into a standard light socket. It is a brinks security light, and I am pretty sure will fit into a floodlight socket?(or security socket whatever it is called, I am a total newb when it comes to lighting. Well, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way I could incorporate this into my space, I am pretty sure there is some sort of adapter, but I have no clue what it would be called or where to get it can anyone help me? Thanks again...Happy Smoking.

the larger socket is called a mogul socket, and you need to find one and cut off your other socket and wire up the new one, its really easy. any CFLs 65w and above require them.

You must also look at the bulb..see if it is self ballast or not. I made the mistake of buying a 65w cfl replacement bulb and it needed an external ballast. You can tell a self ballast one because it has a thick base between the socket and the bulb. If it doesnt have this I suggest you bring the bulb back, you can get self ballast 65w at Home Depot. Then again if it is self balllast all you have to do is get the mogul base and hook up...your in business. ANd you can find just about any watt CFL for use with a medium standard socket(household) on the web. Ive actualy seen 125w for SMB. Either way best of luck.
