Nute burn? *Pictures*

Is this nute burn? It was just on one or two leaves but is now spreading to all of my plants? I already posted once but there was not much help so I'm trying again. I have flushed with ph balanced water and and watering with ph balanced water for 36 hours or more and the problem is NOT improving. Should I continue on my current course?

I could take more pictures if needed but they all look just like this.

Thanks

Give us details on the grow too. If you flushed and after 72 hours it did not improve or at least hault yellowing, its something else.

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

Thanks for the replies you guys. Yeah sorry about providing so little info, I guess I was a little impatient over not getting too many replies on the last thread so I didn't want to put all the time in again if noone was gonna reply. I guess I was wrong -_-

Anyways, here is the link to my old thread:
http://forum.grasscity.com/sick-plan...-pictures.html
Everything still applies. I am currently running pure water and it appears to have gotten worse than when I first posted. There are many leaves looking like the picture I reposted. Quite a few leaves are starting to look wilty as well.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I'm not so sure it's burn, the pH swings rising to 6.5 is not a good sign, how long is it like this. Don't stop feeding them at quarter strength.

Do you have any algae growth on the roots or in the tanks?

Please post a pic of the entire plant / grow.

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

You might want to lower the CA levels if your water is 300+ Ca and your using Ca mG, if these leaves are on near the top or the youngest move the light up an inch or 2 se if that will make a difference (only if the floro are hot), use some superthrive

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

How can I lower the Ca levels? I really can't afford an RO system or anything like that. I am not using cal-mag in my current watering, just pure ph balanced water. The Ph will change over night from 5.5 to around 7 ish. I always adjust just before watering. There is no algae in the tank or roots. It is not the leaves close to the lights. I'm certain it isn't heat stress.

I'll post pics when I can get my hands on my room mates camera again. But basically more leaves are looking like the one posted above and also many are looking wilted.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

Here are 4 updated pictures from just now.

You can see the discoloration and the wilting. I don't think it's nute burn anymore as the problem seems to be getting worse. Ph problem? Ca locking something else out? It doesn't look like Mg def. How can I fix the ph problem? I adjust it as much as I can but it just goes right back up.

Will Ca in the water combine with the acid to make it more basic? It would make sense since I have so much Ca. Could it be forming Calcium Hydroxide? I do have a white mineral like film on my hoses and pump and reservoir tank. Anyone with more Chem knowledge able to offer any insight?

This is your problem, you must stabilise your pH. Some shift up is expected but NOT to 7 ish.

EDIT: you could you use a household water filter to rid the water of calcium. Not very efficient but will help till you find a better solution.

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

You mean like brita? I don't really want to fill a 26 gallon reservoir a half gallon at a time. I appreciate the advice but I don't see that as being feasable unfortunately. As I adjust the water more and more times it seems to raise slower and slower which I would say makes my idea about Ca -> Ca Hydroxide seem more likely. I have backup buckets that I age water in before filling my reservoir I could just keep those and adjust ph while they age to hopefully stabilize it by the time I actually use it.

Thanks again for the help so far everyone. Any input is appreciated.

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

Looks like clones???Are the rooted? How long have they been in the RW?Did you soak the RW 24hrs in 5.0pH before the cuts?RW will draw the Ph to base if theyre not pre adjusted well too.

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

Are you allowing the chlorine to evap. out prior to use?

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

They are seedlings, not clones. They just stretched a lot due to the light being too far away when we started them. They have been in rockwool the entire time. I have presoaked the rockwool in ph 5.5 solution. I do allow the chlorine to evaporate (hence the bins I described that I use to age the water).

It is not the rockwool that is causing the ph to drift though. I ph adjusted one of the bins so that I could water with pure water since I had originally thought nuteburn. Even this water's ph drift up exactly the same as the nutrient solution.

On a side note...how accurate are the chemical tests? Is it possible that I only THINK I am at the correct PH but the test sucks and maybe I'm at 5 or 7 or something?

Thanks again guys. Keep the input coming!

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

You really need a digital meter, chem testing is not very reliable from what i have seen.

Re: Nute burn? *Pictures*

Alright, I guess that is my next step. I'm prolly gonna have to wait for something online. I've spent way more than I wanted already so don't really want to pay more than I have to. Any recommendations for decent meters for a good price?

Thanks.
