Do you want to succeed, the cheap meters are not good, break easy and inaccurate. Get the meter for the job, a hydroponic meter costs about $30 on the famous auction site.

Every grower should have one IMHO. Mine cost me a bit more and has saved me more than it cost 100 times over.

Re: Sick Plant

also i cut off the dead leaves. And i just went to my hydroponic store bought ph meter and it was in the category of 8.5 or higher so i have been adding ph down to try to get it to 5.5-6.5 also i added a teaspoon of a calcium blend to try to solve the problem if its a cal deficiency. Hopefully i get this under control.

ok then 8.5 is like poison to the poor plant.

Nice to see you have done the right thing and purchased a very handy piece of equipment. Your plant will thank you with a swift recovery.

EDIT. Shouldn't chop it, let it die off naturally and then remove it.

Re: Sick Plant

Ok so all i have to say is if your going to be using hydroponics you HAVE to have a ph meter (and ph up and down) If you dont your plant can get sick like mine because you have no idea it has a ph of 8.5 which fried my little girls titties off. But now i got it under control with the ph and and also some cal mag to help out if its a calcium deficiency. heres my little guy now. (still has some yellow but has grown a lot with no new yellowing)
