Help! Clones dying...

Hey guys-

Just picked up some clones a buddy cut from his plant. The clones are huge, and I inserted them into gel rooting cups made for cutting clones.

Anyways, the plants were perk and straight when I got them back, but 10 minutes later they drooped down like crazy. The stems are also starting to turn brownish red

I read that possibly not enough water is the problem... yet these gel cups say there's no need to water because there's water in the solution. I tried sprinkling some purified water on the plants.

I'm using four 23 watt CLF bulbs, equaling out to 6000 lumens.

Anybody know how to fix this? Are the clones to big... or do you think the cloning gel I bought just isn't working?

Re: Help! Clones dying...

did you dip into rooting powder? that helps. what i do is i use coco fiber mixed with perlite and stick the clone in water then rooting powder then into the coco/perlite. give it a spray once a day and set it AWAY ffrom the lights. they shouldnt get direct light. id say maybe a foot from the light

Re: Help! Clones dying...

your issue is called transpiration cutting down the leaf surface will help see now that the clone is seperated its pulling all the water backwards instead of through the stem to the leaves there is more the other way around I would cut hyalf of your leaves just the ling tips off and rig a ziplock bag over them after spritzing the inside of the bag with a spray bottle make a humidity dome that helps with the moisture problem gl

Re: Help! Clones dying...

My clones did the same thing. My fix was to put them into a "bubble" basically a big ass ziplock did the trick. It has been probably two weeks and they are still in there. =/
