Bud rot? :-(

Brown patches on the leaves that are coming out of the bud. Doesn't seem to be effecting the bud yet.

Is this bud rot or mould? If so, should I snip the affected leaves off? These leaves are covered in trichs, can I smoke 'em? Throw me a bone here.

What are my chances of ruined harvest? If I have to chop the buds off early, will they still get me high?

First grow - NL
Soil - organic.
Approx two weeks from harvest.
400w hps at least 20" from canopy.
One other plant in grow room (WW) unaffected.
watered with pH 6.5 water
I haven't had my fans on for a week or so (Yeah, I know, I'm a twonk)
Temp between 68 - 75degrees

Please help me, I'm depressed.

Re: Bud rot? :-(

The tips almost look nute or heat burned. It's normal to lose some color in them though so I wouldn't worry about the yellowing. Keep those fans on! Are you feeding? If you are you may want to start flushing soon.

EDIT: And yes you can smoke them, sift them for kief, make oil, whatever.

Re: Bud rot? :-(

Thanks for the quick response man!

I think the tips were burnt by the light, I have since moved it up. It's the random brown blobs on the leaves that I couldn't explain. So you think I should trim the effected leaves?

I fed 'em a bit yesterday 'cos someone told me they needed it. You reckon they're close to harvest? I'm struggling to judge it and I'm waiting for my magnifyer to arrive.

Fans are firmly in the 'on' position now.

Hard to say but they look like they need some more time to fill out. Patience is a huge virtue when growing the herb

Good luck with your grow and keep in touch.

Re: Bud rot? :-(

Anytime. Oh and I would leave the leaves on unless they continue to degrade. If they look like they are dying off cut them.

That is not bud rot. it looks like leaf spot or rust. You could try a solution of 1 part milk and 3 parts water. Soak every leaf and bud. both sides. the lactic acid may prevent the spores from spreading. You may loose some leaves but the buds will mature. They don't look ready to cut now.
