| URGENT - I think I may have had dead plants, Can I salvage?
Okay, long story short, I had various issues that led to me being told to repot my plants, which I literally just finished doing.
I have two plants, and when I took the first plant out, the stem literally almost fell from the top of the soil. When I broke a bit of the soil away (very gently of course), the stem was very "spaghetti" like and stringy.. It was barely holding on to the bottom part where a lot of the roots where, so I quickly put it into the new pot and pressed it down into the soil and made sure it was relatively sturdy, while making sure to be very gentle still with the plant.
The second plant, was much better, but still concerned me a bit. The roots were not very thick at all (although my plants are only 4.5 inches tall - dunno if that's normal for that rate of growth) however the stem was solid all the way down through the base with the attached soil. I repotted the plant in the soil and did the same as the above, making sure it was sturdy while gentle.
When I repotted the plants, I put the new soil about half way up, and dug a small hole in the middle. I put the plants in with the roots into the small hole and patted the excess soil down around, then filled some more soil in on top (of course I pre-mixed it with perlite as I was told).
Was this correct? And based on what you hear, are the plants dead/salvageable?
I am sorry that I didnt take pictures but I didn't want to dick around with the plants looking so desperate and repotted them as quickly as I could.
