Sick Heat stressed plants in week 8 of flower

Hey all, I wonder if anyone can help me with the best way forward for my stressed plants.

The girls are supposed to be lavender, flowering period 8-9 weeks. They`re in week 8 now but I got em stressed with too much heat and the colas have stretched horribly with loads of spindly shoots. The bottoms of the plant are ripening up, getting dense with lots of brown pistils but the tops are fresh white or light green and very fluffy and light.

Have I messed up too much for these tops to ripen now, or is there a chance they will fill out.

I`m on top of the heat problem, so thats not much of an issue now, its jjust whats the best and most efficient way fwd for this crop.

I have the next grows cuttings in the propergator now so they`ll be rooted in a week or two, then a week rooting up in small pots before being potted in big pots, so I have a good 3 weeks to play with. I`m really skint though so dont want to waste the energy if its going to be a waste.

They got too big in the stretch phase and I had to do a lot of emergency LST to train them back a bit, but they got too hot and started stretching from the tops of buds.

What do I do now folks??

Re: Heat stressed plants in week 8 of flower

LOL Funny That

personally i think they will be ok, abit over stretched but healthy looking.
just flower for a week or two longer and they should fill out more, they look very much like what i grew last year, i grew jock horror (jack herer) spin off
mine did something similar all i did was to flower longer until the buds got denecer
2 and half more weeks i flowered for but
I WILL STRESS THAT BY DOING THIS IT MADE THE PLANTS START TO SELF POLLINATE
IF YOU ARE GOING DOWN THIS ROUTE THEN KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR LITTLE YELLOW
BANANA SHAPED SACKS BETWEEN THE BUDS

hope this helps

Self pollinating, that`d be all I need, lol. Yeah I always keep an eye out for the lil male sack. Ah well we`ll see how they do over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks

They look fine, you should cut the bottom buds when/if they are ready and just leave the top premature buds on there to ripen more. Just because the seed pack says 8-9 weeks doesnt mean it will take that long. You can flower for longer if necessary. Good luck.

Re: Heat stressed plants in week 8 of flower

Thanks, I`m now into week 9, ends Saturday. Yeah Jim you`re right, some of the bottoms are ready for the chop, but its a bit unusual, at least to me, in that most of the bottom branches have reached the tops or near to them and they`re not ripe on the ends.

What`s the best thing to do? Do I start taking individual buds off in order to leave the tops on the branches, I assume they wont dry so nicely not being hung still attatched to the branches. Or do I leave them all on there till the tops are ripe?

I came across a couple of bits of mold in the tops, not very mature ones at that, but I think this was an air circulation problem that I`ve now remedied, as I`ve found no mold for the past couple of days now despite vigilant checks.

Some of the lower buds are totally covered in brown pistils now, whereas some of the tops are still shoving new buds out. I`ll try and take some pics later and post em for you to see.
