little white bugs

hello all just started growing some big bud plants and after 3 weeks they look healthy enough but inthe soil there are lots of little white bugs running about and 3 of my plants stems have gone really flimsy i'm assumeing that these little mites are eating the roots is there and stuff i can put on them to kill them with out harming the plants?

Neem Oil is generally good for getting rid of Pests and bugs and it costs around £10 for 125ml.

Really though it comes down to what insect it is exactly, only thing I can think of is Gnats which can be disposed of with Neem Oil. Only thing with that is the larvae but even then just put some Potatoe slices on the soil near the stem and just wait for a couple of days, the larvae are attracted to it and easily disposed of.

:Edit: Didn't realise you said mites, in that case they may be Spider Mites which I've heard (Havn't had experience with them) can be a pain in the arse to get rid of, tho I've heard of people using Tobacco Juice to get rid of them.

if it is spidermite then, It has been suggested that spraying plants with a 1:1 mixture of alcohol and water will kill spider mites on contact. Rubbing alcohol, like any alcohol for any creature, is poisonous in high dosages, and it evaporates quickly doing little damage to the plant it’s been sprayed on. Some people suggest a 1:3 mixture of rubbing alcohol to water, but the stronger the mixture, the more certain you are to get as many mites as possible.but could be risky Make sure to cover the entire plant, focusing on the bottoms of the leaves where spider mites tend to hang out.

little white bugs is pretty ambiguous. When do you notice them the most? Right after you water?

Are they on the plant or just in the soil? My first reaction would be immature fungus gnats but that's just a wild-assed guess.

in most cases soaking the soil with pyrethrin and/or rotenone spray will kill about any creepy crawly.

they are not on the plant at all just the soil and the plants look fairly healthy. i dont think that are spidermites because they are only in the soil. none of my leaves seem affected.Shall i not worry about them?
