Droopy Clones

First of all I appreciate all of your help. This is one great community.

What type of medium; soil or hydro? 70 soil 30 perlite
What brand and type of soil? Miracle Grow
Indoors or outdoors? LOL
What strain? Bagweed
How old are the plants? Mother3-4 months. Clones 18 hours.
What type of lights and how many watts? Flourecent 75 watts I think
How far from the lights?4 inches
What, how much and when was it fed? NPK?
What is the medium/runoff pH? have shitty meter. I think a lil above 7
What are the temps and humidity in the room? 70 on temp NO METER
What size pots? Refer to pics
Any bugs? Look real close. Yep i think a few spider mites?
Any other pertinent info?

This was my first time cloning and did not turn too well.

I pulled the mother out or flowering 8 days ago.

Pulled clones yesterday.

Cut little notches and dipped in water. Roottone root hormone.

Stuck in soil. Did not put plastic over it until 3 hours ago.

Did I cause too much stress not pulling them into full vegative growth? What else did I do wrong?

Re: Droopy Clones

you had to put the plastic right then and there for humidity. lets hope they bounce back. spray em and spray the bag with water. the inside of the bag that is.

Re: Droopy Clones

Also, your light might be a little too close for how young they are off the mother. The first 72 - 96 hours require very little photosynthesis take place, instead the plant tries focusing its energy on growing roots again. With the light only 4" away, it's like you're forcing the plant to photosynthesize when it should be growing roots instead. All of this is strictly my opinion and is not proven fact, but I would recommend moving the light up to 6-8" away from the tops. Also, I have only taken a total of about 20-30 clones in the last few years (since I rarely run a continuous grow), and have never needed a humidity dome or plastic tent or excessive water. In fact, I have found that it is very easy to over water clones when placed in larger buckets/pots.
I had an outdoor plant that got trampled by an animal a few years ago, destroyed it. But I took 8 branches that were already slumping over, stuck them in the soil (no rooting hormone) and watered them. A week later I went back, and there were 7 of the 8 still alive and almost twice as big. Just yesterday I had a plant snap in half because I was training it too much, too fast. I found it hours after the actual "snap" happened, so I made a new cut in the broken stem, cut off the bottom leaves/branches, dunked it in rooting hormone (powder), and planted it. She's still alive today and looking perky, actually. Again, all of this information is from my own experience and quest for knowledge. I don't mean to offend anyone if they have different beliefs or experiences. Best of luck, and happy growing!
Peace
DM

Re: Droopy Clones

My rate is 90-100%.My first try after 10 years was 22 out of 24 clones.
I use Olivia's Cloning Gel,the best.
My last batch of 15 clones is out of 15!
You need a good cloning gel and a good moist environment for your babies.
Check out what i use in the attch:
A $1:00 cake pan w/lid.I have 6,they can fit 20-24 clones per tray.
These 15 are getting potted tonight.I cut them last week and they are rooted now!
