ROOT ROT?? Please help....

ok so i have a dwc garden and i just noticed that the roots have a brown slime on them. i just changed the rez yesterday. i checked the temp in the rez and it was 82 degrees. is this too warm? could it just be some nutrients built up? my real question is should i just keep them and clean with h202 or could i plant them in soil and have better success? also will cutting off the infected roots be best? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP

Re: ROOT ROT?? Please help....

Yes 82F is WAY too warm and will almost promise you root rot.

Water temps for DWC should be kept around 68-69F if you can... this will promote the highest oxygen saturation for the water as well as keep root rot at bay.

Sounds to me like it's about time for you to build/buy a water chiller...
