Well, first of all my name is not Jeff. Second, I don't even know you, and third since I am not Jeff I do not know what site ya are referring to. I appreciate the compliment on my thread though, lol.

Re: Sick Plants? Have A Question? Ask Here.

chaotic metal,
i am having trouble with one of my babies. planted on 8/5, it is now 8/28.
during the night i keep them (her) inside under a cheap 17w light. I know this isn't enough light so maybe i answered my question. BUT in the day i take them out into sunlight.
they are in 'garden safe' organic all purpose potting soil, and i started out watering them with superthrive induced water and every other day seaweed fertilizer induced water. ( i have also now heard that nutes are bad during the first 3 weeks)

besides investing in a bigger lamp, is there anything i can do to save her? i repotted her because her stem was so long because she reached for the light immediately out of soil. her roots were not very well developed.

as of today, 8/28 i am only giving them fresh spring water until i'm told otherwise.

here are three photos.

Iron, Sulfur, Zink 9-9-11

My plant was looking poor with folded drooping leaves around budding cites and slight yellowing of the lower base leaves. I did a ph test and came out with 7.5+. I read some of the posts and figured some sulfur would help drop it . The local nursery gave me one pound of Iron, Sulfur, Zinc 9-9-11 and told me to sprinkle a handful of mix around the plant and water. I am still waiting the 72 hours to retest, currently 7.2 ph, but today the plant looks worse than yesterday. The buds stink like rotten eggs, lol, and more leaves are folded and drooping.
All I am wandering is if I am going in the right direction or creating more problems for myself?

One last question I promise. Guy tells me to trim water leaves to allow more nutes and energy to push bud development. I get a wiled hair and totally trim top to bottom an large leaf I can. Only small leaves left. Probably 1/2 of the foliage is gone. Did I just cripple these poor girls?

Thank you for your time
Josh

Re: Sick Plants? Have A Question? Ask Here.

Hey whats up man I just wanted to see if you could help me out. I have this plant in a room with two other plants. The other two are doing really well but this one just started acting funny. About a week ago i noticed the bottom fan leaves were yellowing and dying. I just thought it was a natural thing happening and that they were just old leaves. A couple days later i noticed it progressing up the plant. So then i thought it was to much nitrogen in the soil so i started giving it plain water. Ive been giving it plain water for about a week now and its moved to the top. Its weird the big fan leaves are all dying but the little ones arent but the new new growth is dying as it comes in. Im using foxfarm ocean forest with their tiger bloom big bloom and grow big. I just follow the directions so i dont know whats goin on with this thing. I know its not heat stress cause the other two plants that are just as big arent having the same problem. PLEASE HELP!!!!

edit-i use triple filtered water for watering as well so there shouldnt be any contiminates in the water. Its reverse osmosis, charcoal and UV filtered water

pics

the sick one is in the middle.

The big leaves dying

the new growth

Its all good. Wann explain the whole setup though. Bubble buckets water level should remain fairly high if Im not mistaken. it needs to reach the roots. a few inches under the basket i beleive.

yo chaotic, i know ur a busy man, ill try and answer this one

hey man, how much fertlizer did ur plant get when u were using the superthrive and the seaweed fertilizer? If any, you would only want a very small dose of nutes inthe first 3 weeks. The plant doesn't need much except good strong lighting to prevent stretching. If the light situation is indeed insufficient, you may want to consider buying some cfls. Keep giving her straight water for a few days and se what comes of it. Hopefully it'll recover and you can get some additional lighting. peace

Need Help with Wilting Widow

One week ago, I noticed leaf droop on top of one plant, so I checked ph and it was 7.2. Not sure what I was smoking at the time, but my dummass added small amount of lime and foliar fed it with baking soda; in other words, just the opposite of the correct response to the slightly high ph. Realizing my error, 48 hours ago I flushed it good, but ph remains at 7.2 and drooping continues, though not on bottom two-thirds of plant.
1. Should I foliar spraying with vinegar (1 tsp/gal dilution) to bring down ph?
2. She is currently at 42 inches, and since its only first week of flowering, I assume she will g-r-o-w plenty; so, is it too late to top it?

Indoor grow, organic potting soil, two White Widow plants, each under three 150-watt, CFLs, one 90-watt fluro spot, 248-LED Red light, two inches away; one is fine, the other is not; 8 days into flowering, 10-inch pot, 78 degrees, no insects.
