Here is what I do - had close to 100% success.

I use those jiffy pellets (bought at any hardware store)... soak them in water to get them to expand.
Cut the clone
Trim the leaves and cut the top leaves in half (as seen on plenty of cloning faqs)
Push down into the pellet and squeeze the pellet around the clone. This also will remove some of the builtup water in the medium (preventing stem rot)
Put in humidity dome and mist twice a day (morning/evening)
Put under CFL that is about 1ft away from clones
Wait....7-14 days...I've got roots.

So.... what are you doing differently. The above is a very simplistic approach... so you must be over doing something or missing a step entirely to have such a poor success rate.

well both of you guys have suggested using jiffy pelts plus I haven't been triming the leafs the leafs aren't that big tho. would that make the clones root slower? I can get some pictures of my setup. I also soak my rock wool in 5.5 ph water.

By trimming the leaves (I believe) it aides in transpiration and allows the plant to put more focus on root creation.

Either way, the method I detailed above works perfectly for me. If you follow those steps, including medium, to the letter - you should not have any issues.

If you deviate from what I posted, well then you're kinda on your own as it'll be outside of what I use for cloning.
