Saving A plant planted in MG today. Advice Please!

I got a plant from a buddy that planted his clone in MG. It, of course, started to die and I've been tasked with saving it. I'm going out right now to get some clean soil, but what, if any, nutrients should I pick up? pH suggestions?
Most of the lower leaves are wilting/turning yellow, and several leaves are getting dead, brown tips or curled over.

The top of the plant is still looking relatively healthy, and I know it can be saved with proper care. Any tips or suggestions anyone has to offer would be much appreciated.

P.S. I apologize for the low picture quality; I'm in a bit of a hurry.
