Best thrip solution?

I've got 10 plants on my patio here in the south of Spain that are about 1 month into veg. They are all doing quite well, except for the runt of the litter. However, I'm having quite the issue with thrips. The little bastards are doing a fair bit of damage. I clean them out every day with a bit of dish soap and water in a sprayer, mist the plants, then rinse them with some plain water. Kills what's on them at the time but by the next day they've picked up a bunch more.

What can I use that would create a bit of a barrier yet not hurt the plants or cause them to burn? Neem? Safers? I'm not even sure if I can find either of these products here.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yea, einstien oil with a penetrator should do the trick. After spraying them down as best as possible, there are some things you can put on the soil to attract them to it instead of your plant.

I just had the same problem start about 1 week ago. I used azatrol (spelling), the way it supposed to work is it doesnt allow them to eat or reproduce. At first i didnt think it worked then after about 2 days i noticed a difference.

Down fall azatrol is pretty expensive... I think i payed like $80US for a pint of concentrate. But you can get a ton of uses out of that pint. Its like 2tsp per gallon.

Good luck man and get rid of those little bastards.

I found some spray with neem oil and a couple of applications of that seems to have done the trick. The plants are all up to 2-3 feet now and the bugs have pretty much left them alone.

That's great that neem did the trick but I would have recommended something with spinosad like you mentioned earlier.
