2 1/2 week-old sprout is laying on it's side

This sprout has always had this problem since the day it sprouted, It's stem right near the soil is a dark red-brown and is about 1/3 the thickness of the rest of the stem. The sprout seems to be doing fine but this worries me into thinking this is a genetic problem and it will never be able to grow upwards. I've tried to prop it up with a tiny stake and string but after a week I decided that maybe it will eventually heal itself, but no luck. It is laying on the edge of the cup, but the rest of the plant is very healthy. will i need to stake it for the rest of it's life? Or will the problem only get worse as it develops?

water it and make sure that your lighting is directly above. It will grow towards the light.

That plant looks badly stretched and is really small for 2 1/2 weeks. What kind of lighting are you using?

I'm far from an expert but it sure is tiny for 2.5 weeks. Mine were bigger than that in like 4 days I think. After 2.5 weeks they should have a few sets of leaves on them. I don't know if it's a bad seed or you're setup/technique is bad. if it were me I'd probably start over and make sure soil and lighting conditions are up to snuff. Maybe try some different seed too.
